Vision and mission

Love God, love people — the whole ministry of Zion Church is built on this.

Vision

Love God, love people — all of our ministry at Zion Church should be centered on LOVE FOR GOD and LOVE FOR PEOPLE.

Matthew 22:37–39

Therefore, according to 1 Peter 2:4–10

As members of God's spiritual community, we carry a twofold responsibility:

  • Worship — offering up SPIRITUAL SACRIFICES (v. 5) — directed toward God
  • Witness — proclaiming His EXCELLENCE (v. 9) — directed toward people

Mission

We embrace the BIBLICAL mission known as the Great Commission:

18 Jesus came to them and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

(Matthew 28:18–20)

At the heart of the New Testament is the conviction that JESUS ALREADY REIGNS OVER THE WORLD — one of the most important results of His Resurrection. This is the MEANING and the success of the MISSION.

Our motto

Learn and teach, live, love

  • Learn and teach

Growing in a close relationship with Jesus Christ, being steeped in His teaching, and passing this “spirit” on to others.

    John 15; 2 Timothy 2:1–2

  • Live

Living by the Gospel — developing a MISSIONAL LIFESTYLE: proclaiming Jesus Christ to all people and making disciples for Christ.

    Matthew 28:19; Romans 10:14–15; Acts 1:8

  • Love

Showing true love both to our brothers and sisters and to those outside the church — not in word or with the tongue, but in deed and truth.

    John 13:35; 1 John 4:7–12; 1 John 3:18
